Hygiene Protocols

At IntoBeauty, we have always been as clean, healthy and hygienic as possible. From now on this is going to be taken to a new level. This will not change the relaxation element of treatment, I will still do facial massage and body massage, eyebrow shapes and facial waxing, and electrolysis. These are all close proximity treatments, but to minimize chances of contamination from either side the following principles will be followed.

Your comfort and happiness is of paramount importance during your time at IntoBeauty.

Should you, the client, have any concerns about hygiene during the treatment, I will take your comment with good grace and make good the hygiene concern.

I have followed the 12 guiding Principles By Dermalogica:

For each client:

1. Each client will receive an email before the appointment asking them to confirm:

a) they have had not had contact with confirmed cases of Covid 19 for 14 days before their appointment.

b) they do not have a temperature, cough, or abdominal pain and/or diarrhoea. If you contract Covid 19 within 14 days of seeing me, please inform me.

c) they have not lost sense of taste or smell recently due to unknown cause.

IntoBeauty Therapists

IntoBeauty will not carry out the treatment if the therapist has a temperature, cough, abdominal pain or diarrhoea, loss of sense of smell or taste. (ie. me, Zoe Harrison!)

Nor will the treatment go ahead if I have had contact with a known source of Covid 19 within 14 days of the clients appointment.

If I contract Covid 19, I will inform all the Clients I have seen during the 14 days previous to the onset.

2. Clients in high risk and vulnerable groups such as an advanced age or with pre-existing medical conditions are advised not to get treatments.

3. We will ensure physical distancing guidelines of 6ft in communal areas.

4. Clients and employees shall wear masks in common areas. Therapists shall wear a clean, dry mask every 2 hours and visor.

An International paper of infection control says paper masks are good for up to 2 hours, which covers the longest appointment, therefore facial masks will be changed every two hours, or before that time is up.

Masks can be worn for more than one client but must be put on and taken off in a sanitary manner.

Therapists shall also wear a face shield when working in close proximity to the client.

Therapists shall wear a freshly laundered attire during each shift.

5. Hands shall be sanitised on entry to the skin care centre. Therapists shall visibly wash hands with soap and water for 30 seconds, before and after touching clients, after contact with soiled or unsterilised tools and surroundings. Every treatment or skin analysis that involves touching should begin with a facial cleanse.

6. Gloves are not recommended over thorough hand washing unless they are requested by clients or required by authorities. If used, gloves shall be changed before and after touching clients and after contact with any soiled or unsterilised tools and surroundings.

Please note that Dermalogica is not recommending the use of gloves because you are able to quickly, efficiently and more often wash and sanitise your hands. Wearing gloves does not prevent cross-contamination but can lead to a false sense of security. Consistent washing of your hands with soap and water is a best practice.

7. All professional use products shall be disinfected after each use and stored in cabinet or sealed container when not in use.

8. Treatment beds must be covered with either clean treatment table paper, a clean towel or a clean sheet before each client. Only use blankets which are laundered after every client.

All professional use products shall be disinfected after each use and stored in cabinet or sealed container when not in use.

9. All non-porous, metal or plastic non-disposable equipment, as well as surfaces, must be cleaned and then disinfected before each use. Electrical items should be sprayed or wiped before each use.

10. Clean and dirty items and tools must be kept visibly separate in well-marked covered containers.

11. All high touch areas throughout the skin center shall be disinfected when visibly soiled and at least hourly.

12. Retail testers shall be wiped down before and after each use. Products packaged in jars are currently not appropriate as testers. Tester product shall only be applied to the hands.
